Golf Practice Facilities, Even for the Pros

Building muscle memory and getting your brain and body into the "groove" takes repetitious practice. Being a members' only facility means that your valuable time on the practice range or on the tee is relaxed, stress-free and productive. More than a dozen PGA Tour players have chosen to become members at Frederica because of the quality and condition of the course and practice facilities. Greens, bunkers, rough and other hitting surfaces can be customized to simulate real and varied playing conditions at other courses — allowing member pros to fine tune their game before ever leaving home.

Pitching greens offer a variety of approach angles and elevations. Bunkers are filled with the three types of sand most encountered on the tour and practice greens are seeded and cut to standards set by the world’s top tournament courses. A unique, vertical bunker gives British Open-bound pros a chance to face this challenge in the event they fall prey to its torment during championship play.

Mastering the short game is crucial to scoring — dialing in your short irons and wedges is critical. Another range area places concrete pads at various yardages — visible targets designed to help you dial in your swing, club choice and course confidence. Varied practice tee positions allow members to experience prevailing wind conditions before they begin a round. Tees to greens to bunkers — our practice facilities duplicate turf, sand and mowing standards of the golf course.

“ I have never seen practice facilities this deep. There is a variation of every possible playing condition.”
- Zach Johnson, PGA Professional and Frederica Member
